Pad sizing
IMPACT PAD SIZING CHART
Our shoulder pads are measured for fit the same way every other shoulder pad is measured:
1. Find a soft (cloth) measuring tape or a tailor's tape measure.
2. Place the zero on the outside tip of one shoulder.
3. Stretch the tape / ruler straight across the player's back to the other shoulder tip.
4. Read the exact measurement, do not round the number up.
It is not good for the player to wear a shoulder pad that is too big in size. The pad will move around on the player's body, especially during contact, and this can contribute to an injury. On the other hand, too small is not good either.
The one general rule you can always count on is; if there is no more or no less than ½" of padding sticking out over the player's glenohumeral head (the bone at the tip of the shoulder), the pad is a perfect fit. If there is up to 1" of padding sticking out past the tip of the shoulder, the pad can still be worn, however, more than 1" is an injury waiting to happen.
